What has the NWAF accomplished?

In spite of limited resources, the National Welsh-American Foundation has distributed $232,860 in support of its purpose.

  • Awarded $68,009 in Scholarships to young Welsh-Americans and Welsh students since 1988;
  • Issued $73,404 in Grants to support local Welsh-American organizations engaged in restorations, special studies and cultural events;
  • Provided $16,824 in support of Welsh language training in the United States and Wales;
  • Through the NWAF Book Search Project has saved books and artifacts that might otherwise have been lost;
  • Published Books of interest to Welsh-Americans;
  • Recognized individuals through the Welsh Heritage Medallion and Honorary Order of Ivorites
  • Placed Markers and Memorials at historic sites;
  • Published a quarterly membership bulletin, The Eagle and the Dragon;
  • Supported both North American Welsh newspapers, Ninnau & Y Drych, and
  • Cooperated with other North American, regional and local Welsh-American Organizations.
