The National Welsh-American Foundation supports individuals and local organizations in the United States and Wales engaged in restoration of historical sites, maintenance of museums, the conduct of nursery schools, and the pursuit of research and special studies of interest to the Welsh-American Community. It supports the National Eisteddfod of Wales and cultural tours of the United States.
Since its founding, grants have exceeded $73,404. A few examples include:

- Sponsored Arts/Crafts Catalogue 1992-1996
- Remsen Stone Church, NY. Repair of stained glass windows
- David Lloyd George Museum in Wales
- Welsh Presbyterian Church, Los Angeles. Restoration and earthquake proofing
- Merthyr Tydfil Heritage Trust, Wales. Joseph Parry home
- Welsh Women's Club of Milwaukee. Restoration of Thomas General Store
- Tri-County Historical Society, PA. Restoration of fireplace in historic Jones-Hertzler home
- Monticello Foundation. Re-creation of garden nursery
- University of Rio Grande, OH. First Annual North American Welsh Studies Conference
